Margaret Buck Holland

MBH_profilepic_treeI am an associate professor in the Department of Geography & Environmental Systems at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) (faculty page).  I identify most strongly as an applied human-environment geographer, and am driven by research questions that actively address environmental conservation and human well-being challenges in the local contexts where I work, but also build broader lessons for informing changes to environmental policy and management.  Here you will find more details about my research program, including several recent research collaborations that work across multiple scales of inquiry and influence.  Here I also include the work and research efforts of my graduate student collaborators, and explore the ways in which I have tried to integrate my research interests into more applied learning experiences for students.
