Research in Baltimore

Along with UMBC graduate student, J. Brooks Binau, and a team of valiant undergraduate field assistants, we are working to map the flow of food that urban farms in Baltimore City produce.  Our team has been “following the food” and collecting information on Baltimore City’s urban food customers across two summer food seasons (2014 & 2016), thanks to funding through UMBC (GES department, and CAHSS Dean’s Research Fund).  We use tablets to survey farm customers and map the flow of food at various points of sale (farmers’ markets, mobile food markets, CSA drop-offs, and farm stands).
